Rumer Willis is sharing a health update on her dad Bruce Willis.

The actress, 36, said while appearing on the U.K. chat show Loose Women on Monday, Feb. 3 that Bruce, 69, is “doing really well” in an update following the actor’s frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

“He’s doing great,” Rumer said via video link on the show.

She explained that at this time her family has been “most scared dealing with the fires” in California where they live and “wanting to make sure everything is okay,” before continuing to speak on the support they have for each other.

“I think again because my family, we’re all so close, I think what’s so beautiful is the way that we rally around each other is so lovely because we really are a unit,” Rumer continued.

In March 2022, the Willis family announced that Bruce had been diagnosed with aphasia. His wife Emma Heming Willis later confirmed his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia in February 2023.

The Mayo Clinic defines aphasia as “a disorder that affects how you communicate,” and frontotemporal dementia as “an umbrella term for a group of brain diseases that mainly affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.”

Earlier in her interview on Loose Women, Rumer spoke about being “grateful” looking back on her family life growing up with dad Bruce and mom Demi Moore.

“The thing I’m most grateful for is that even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritizing my sisters and I, that I never felt like I had to choose — they never played against each other,” she said of the actors, who divorced in 2000.

She added, “We were a family and we still are very much a family, no matter what.”

Rumer said she feels her parents set up such a “beautiful foundation” for herself and her own family as she navigates co-parenting with her ex-boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas and their 21-month-old daughter Louetta.

“As I’m working through co-parenting as well I just feel, I just feel deep gratitude for the example they’ve set,” she shared on the show.

Speaking to PEOPLE in October 2024, Rumer said in praise of her parents’ relationship, “One of the most beautiful things to witness about my parents’ relationship still is just their love and support of each other.”

“We go over to dinner at Emma’s house with the girls and we’re family. And I think family can look differently in a lot of ways, but it’s just about what it means,” she added.
